What To Do

So I've discovered that my prenatal pills are partly responsible for my morning sessions of toilet diving.  I absolutely despise throwing up so I'm one of those who will fight it off until the bitter end.  The last few days have literally been so horrifying because all I've done is fight it off, fight it off, fight it off.  I actually started eating more because at least while I'm eating I feel a tad bit better and it puts something in my stomach that can come up later.

Well, yesterday morning I just couldn't take it anymore and I walked into the bathroom and just let it all go.  I had the absolute worst taste in my mouth in the midst of all this and realized I had just thrown up my prenatal pills.  Call it a coincidence, but I felt better yesterday than I have thus far.  My mom advised taking the pills after I had eaten a square meal and see if that helped at all.

This morning I made myself an english muffin with peanut butter and ate a few pieces of Evan's watermelon.  I washed it all down with a big glass of milk.    Finally I reached for my pills, popped them in my mouth, swallowed and waited.  It only took about 20 -30 minutes before I had to make a dash for the bathroom.  It was a lot more pleasant having something substantial come up rather than bile and medication.  That was probably too much information, but it's true.  I'm still really nauseous 4 hours later, but I'm not sure if the pills made it out this time.  I'm still pretty certain these particular pills are not agreeing with me.

What to do?  Keep buying different brands until I find one not so bothersome?  That seems like a lot of trial and error, not to mention wasted money - but I will literally do anything at this point to be able to keep my breakfast.

Preggo Takeover

I'm gonna do my best not to let my pregnancy take over this blog because naturally that's what pregnancy rants would do - but I'm gonna focus on keeping a good balance.  For documenting purposes, I definitely want to keep track of how my body responds to this particular pregnancy because I think it's going to be completely different than the first time around.  With that being said...

I am SOOOO nauseous!  In the morning I either make a dash towards the toilet or I'm lingering around the bathroom ready to make the move.  The remainder of the day is spent fighting off that urge.  I feel better when I eat, but as soon as I'm done the nausea is back.  This is, by far, one of the worst feelings in the world.  I think I'd rather have the flu for a few days than nausea for 3 months!  I was lucky with Evan and never experienced this torture.  I may have had a week or two where I felt queasy at times, but nothing compared to my current situation.  I was at a meeting this morning and I was so nauseous that I began sweating and my mouth was watering - I was two seconds away from bolting out of my chair to the bathroom.  Luckily, I overcame it, but my boss was looking at me as though I was diseased.  Might as well be, I guess.

And to not leave Evan out of today's happenings - he found some dried up dog poop on the bottom of a sneaker this afternoon and found out it didn't taste so good.  While I freaked out, Robert laughed.  It was a very small piece, but like I needed anything else to induce vomiting.  It was his breath that finally did it.

Soon to be Four

Evan will be a proud big brother in about 33 weeks.  With summer being our goal for baby number two, this came as somewhat of a surprise, but we were thrilled nonetheless!

We had our first doctor's appointment today to confirm everything and to get our prenatal agenda set.  We are scheduled for our first ultrasound in exacly 4 weeks.  I was hoping it would be sooner - but I guess we got lucky with our OB in Fort Myers.  She did an ultrasound with Evan at 6 weeks so we were able to hear his heartbeat a lot earlier than normal.

We're really excited to see Evan step up to the big brother role.  I think he'll be extremely involved and attached immediately.  He was kissing a kid in the Sprint store today for crying out loud - he's ready!

And this is t-shirt #2 I referred to in my last post.  Robert has requested a couple more that I might put together this week.  I'm on a roll right now so if you have a birthday coming up you know what you're getting.
