I had the tedious task this week of building the website for Buzz's Roost (our business in SC). I haven't built a website since my first job out of college - I was definitely a little rusty. I had to reteach myself so many different skills which took almost three days in itself.
I have the site built. There are a few pages without content because I am waiting for our General Manager to send over the information. It will be up as soon I receive it. Until then I'd like for you to visit the site and give me your thoughts, opinions or suggestions. Buzz's Roost

I'm not really qualified to give advice, and I think it looks great, but if I had to come up with specific feedback, would be: 1) I think you could consider an "About" link to where we can learn a thing or two about the super cool owners 2) If you can post the pictures without having to link it to Flicker, that might come off "smoother" ? maybe I dunno 3) I think the blog is GREAT 4) I can't WAIT to come have a beer at Buzz's!!
I'm waiting to do an "About" because I don't want to get R fired from his job. Still trying to keep that on the downlow. I agree about the pictures - we only have 5 pages with our hosting account so I have to be selective for what they are used for. By linking to Flickr the photo gallery is not considered a page - I'll have to think on that.
Definitely appreciate the feedback.
I've always thought it would be so cool to own a restaurant/bar (hard work, but cool). Are you guys going to do this full time?
Laura - the goal is to acquire 3-5 resturant/bars and then concentrate on them full-time. We're not ready to give up Robert's paycheck quite yet. :)
good plan - you're off to a great start!
I agree with Kylie on both fronts but realize the complicated nature of doing that. I'm wondering why the titles of Buzz's images are Evan 022 etc. I think I know why. Also would be interesting to see some fun popping off at Buzz's, like some people partying on game night or something. Like some hotties or something...night time action. One day Buzz's will have a giant marketing budget and they can get a food photographer down there and hire the services of an SEO and get a bangin site with loads of flash and stuff. PS- I only go to bars with designer websites.
Yeah, we were hoping to get some good pictures of people partying the weekend we were there, but it was way too cold so everyone was inside and it was way too dark. When it warms up and people are making use of the outside bars and the live music is back we plan on getting tons of pics for the website.
As far as food photographers and flash sites - not really pushing for a south beach bar.
Keepin' it simple.
